Who is Brotherhood Haze?

About the Artist

Born Dorsey Lytel Watkins II on June 30, 1983 in Camden, New Jersey to Dorsey Watkins Sr. and song bird Christine 'Chrissy' Watkins music is naturally a part of his DNA.

Dorsey who goes by the stage name 'Brotherhood Haze' began his journey with music at a young age. His whole family has always been musically inclined.

He got his start creating music with his brother in Fayetville, NC where they would freestyle on random beats which quickly led to him writing. Once perfected he laid his first track down at a local Dj's house under the name Black Haze. He recalls his first rap performance being at his high school talent show. Some of his earlier musical success came while with the rap group "Boom boom room ent" founded by Alex Parsons, who also taught Haze to play the piano and guitar. Later he would go on to show Haze how to produce and engineer music.

Musical Rebirth

After the birth of his first child, Haze took a break from music to focus on being a parent. That fire and passion never died and this would prove evident when Haze was contacted by his childhood best friend Breeon Price "B-Hood" who asked him to move to Texas and be apart of the group Brotherhood.

Haze's role while in Brotherhood was to be the primary engineer, song writer and a contributing producer. He was a major part of what took place behind the scenes from booking shows to registering music, taking on some of the responsibilities of a group's manager. With Brotherhood he was able to perform on the same stage with many legendary artists such as 2 Live Crew, Scarface, Silk, N.O.R.E. and Plies.

As time passed the group members decided to focus less on music due to pressing matters in their own personal lives.

Artist on the Rise

Haze took this time away from creating and releasing music to dive deeper into the business side of music. Taking his previous experience from his work with Boom Boom Room Ent. and Brotherhood/Lost Fortune Ent. he formed his own record label, Family First Entertainment.

Reborn as Brotherhood Haze, he released his first song as a solo artist in October of 2019. Since then he has released a mixtape titled The Underground Raproad Vol. 2 and the aptly titled EP Better Late Than Never.

Adapting to the changes in the music industry Brotherhood Haze is on pace to release content every quarter in the forseeable future, with his booming voice and lyrical talent he is one of this generations hidden gems.

You'd be a damn fool to try and walk in another man's shoes, just be you and you can't lose" - Brotherhood Haze 'God Walk'
